I am so sorry to have read that Hargewoin Teferra passed away this week. She was a tremendous woman who gave her life for the children of Addis Ababa and Ethiopia itself.
She is written about in Melissa Faye Greens book There Is No Me Without You. The book itself is a great read and one I would recommend to anyone who wants to learn more about adoption and Ethiopia itself.
More importantly, the book shares the story of one woman's life and how she turned a community upside down to better the lives of it's impoverished children. Hargowoin was a remarkable woman and an example to follow. I wish the world were full of more like her.
We have lost an amazing woman. May her spirit and work live on.
