Giving

I have been overwhelmed this week by the generosity of families in the adoption process with us. There are so many of them going far above and beyond what is expected, but let me explain...
The agency that we are working with has a close relationship with AHOPE (see link on your right), another Ethiopian agency that provides housing and medical care for children in Ethiopia that are suffering from HIV/AIDS. AHOPE houses 80-90 children at any given time and supplies for the children often run low. It has been common practice for many of our agency families to bring donations for AHOPE along with them when they travel to pick up their children.
I have learned that many of these families have used their talents to make baby bibs and blankets, also taking the time to gather medical supplies and find children's clothing, all to help supply AHOPE with things they desperatly need.
It is a spirit of giving and gentle humility that I am so proud to watch grow and develop in this small little world of ours. It is easy for us to forget how blessed we are simply because we were born in one of our blessed 50 states. We have so much that we can give, and so much beyond that we take for granted.
While we can't fix all the problems that we would like, we can improve the life of some, even if it is only a handful.
I would encourage everyone to find an agency you believe in and find out how you can support them. Sometimes it is much easier than you might think.
To all of my forum family and friends- YOU ROCK!!!!!
