Well, so far, this week has gone MUCH smoother. Daddy coming home was a big help and now we are counting down days until he is home again.
We have stayed much quieter this week too, which helps I think. We haven't left the house much, partly due to the thunder storms, partly just to see if it helped t stay quieter. It seems to have worked out pretty well so far. Basic errands get run, but other than that, we keep to the house and the backyard, enjoying the sunshine for as long as it lasts and working on all kinds of creative projects while we are stuck indoors.
I have been dreaming a lot lately. Strange, odd dreams that take me back to people and places I haven't thought of in years. It's funny how even smells come back when your dreams are really vivid. Odd. Anyway, I think that Macie is having a similar type of trouble sleeping. I must have woken up 6 times last night to her talking in her sleep, moving around and falling out of bed.
It was probably my own fault. When I finally went to bed, I heard Macie and looked in on the girls, she was laying there with her eyes open and, well, long story short, we all ended up crawling in Momma's bed for a bit while the girls fell back to sleep.
Ella was out in minutes, but Macie was just having a tough night. It took a while, but they both fell asleep and I moved them back into their own beds (they had almost completely taken over mine). I thought maybe that would help, but it turned out not to. Macie just kept waking up- I can only assume it's dreams. It's hard when language can still be such a barrier. It gets better every day, but there are definitely still struggles.
Anyway, the day has begun and I can already see that nap time is going to be even more valuable today for all of us!
I'm so glad the week is going well. Good that you are so intuitive as to the girls emotional needs - just being there for them, language barriers or not - makes a huge difference!
ReplyDeleteGotta love those naps, too!
