Rules of the game:
Post 10 random things about yourself. Choose 5 people to tag and a reason you chose each person (can be totally nonsensical). Leave them each a comment directing them to your blog so they know they are it . You can't tag the person who tagged you (you'll have to make new friends). As a courtesy to the person who tagged you, please let them know when you have posted so they can have the sheer delight and extra work load of reading your answers

Random facts and habits...10 of them (not 4 or 7 or 8...10...that's the rule):
#10: I hate shoes. I have this thing about my toes having room to breathe. I'll wear shoes if I have to (like in the winter), but I'll wear flip-flops into late Fall or early Winter if AT ALL possible. That said....
#9: I love shoes. I have more shoes than I know what to do with. My favorite pairs are usually sandals or open toed shoes of some type (see #10), but I really have quite a collection building. Garrett laughs because he can somehow manage with two or three basic pair, while I feel it necessary to have at least 4 pair of any given color. Still...... I continue to collect. If we get a little girl- she'll love it when she's a little older:P!
#8: Exploration. I've been all over the place and can't wait to go to Ethiopia. I have a list of about at least 50 other places I want to see within this lifetime of mine! Give me a backpack, some simple attire, some basic supplies, a little money and I'll be on a plane.

#7: I have a strangely odd connection to our dog, Dudley. When he was a puppy, people used to try to convince me that he was just a dog and that I needed to train him as if I was the master "lead dog" of the house and he was somehow subordinate to me, but I gotta tell ya, he is sooooo the leader in our house. Don't get me wrong, he is fairly obedient, but I think it is more because he has trained us, than we have trained him. He has always had this cool way of just being another member of the family and I must admit- I think he is more attached to me than Garrett- which- of course makes me like him... just a little more :P. I can't imagine life without him.
#5: Pajama love. I have this great pair of flannel pajama pants from Old Navy and one of Garrett's old button down shirts that I love to wear to bed. It's the most comfortable thing I own and while I don't match AT ALL- I somehow think that the mismatch of items is the perfect match for my sleeping purposes.
#4: Hair color. I can't ever decide what color it should be. I have grey hair starting(thanks mom!) that started to show up in my early twenties and I have struggled to cover it up for years. So I have alternated from highlighting my hair, to going red, brown, close to black then light again. My hair color is in a continual state of flux.
#3: On being vertically challenged. On a good day, I'm 5ft 4in. I always thought it was great as a kid because I could weasel my way between people and get through lines faster. I could hide in clothing racks in stores and lose myself in a crowd. Now however, I must say, there are many days when I envy those that can see the top of my head (not that I want to see the top of my head). It must be nice to have a broader scope of things.
#2: I dream in black and white. I have never really been very sure what that means, but ever since I was a child, I have had very real dreams in black and white. I think it is because I used to watch black and white TV shows and old movies. Something just clicked and I think that I believed that was just the way life was back then, and it translated into my dreams. Weird, I know.

#1: Passionate, opinionated people make me happy. Sometimes they piss me off too, but even then, I find that I respect their passion and desire to express their thoughts on matters that mean something to them. It makes me work harder, research more, and understand greater why it is that I feel the way that I do about things. It keeps my mind open to being wrong sometimes, and it strengthens my resolve on the things I find support for. I love passionate people. After all our opinion of people depends less on what we see in them, than upon what they make us see in ourselves.

ReplyDeleteI'm still behind on doing our vacation post, but I promise that I will do this within the next several days - for sure! It sounds very fun and I'll enjoy digging deep to find some quirky things about myself, okay, slight exageration, I only have to look in the mirror to find the goofy stuff! Your blog looks great and when I can scrape a few spare minutes together I'm going to go through it to get caught up on your journey! Thanks for finding me/us!
